Stacking the Shelves [28]

This week has been inactive in many more ways than one. I’ve only made it to the gym once, I only did one post, and I’ve felt really unmotivated to do really anything other than binge watch TV – BUT I did receive a whack of books over the last couple weeks (I just forgot last week to post). SO I hope you’ve all had a waaaay better week than I have, and I hope you all enjoy the books I’m sporting this week :D

Physical Copies:

Nash by Jay Crownover“Nash” by Jay Crownover

Saint has no idea that Nash isn’t the cocky player he once was. Uncovering a devastating family secret has rocked his world, and now he’s struggling to figure out his future. He can’t be distracted by the pretty nurse he seems to meet everywhere. Still, he can’t ignore the sparks that fly between them —or how she seems so desperate to get away from him. But the funny, sweet, and drop-dead gorgeous Saint is far too amazing to give up on—especially since she’s the only thing in his life that seems to make sense.

I DEVOURED this book last week!! I have been waiting so so so very long for another Marked Men book Rule, Rome and Jet all rocked my world and I adored the style of writing and romance Crownover delivered. SO once I heard about Nash I couldn’t WAIT to get an ARC just so I could get a chance to read it. And loved it!

“Days of Blood & Starlight” by Laini TaylorDays of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor

In this stunning sequel to the highly acclaimed Daughter of Smoke & Bone, Karou must decide how far she’ll go to avenge her people. Filled with heartbreak and beauty, secrets and impossible choices, Days of Blood & Starlight finds Karou and Akiva on opposing sides as an age-old war stirs back to life.

I received this from Hachette Book Group Canada along with the sequel in time for the Toronto signing and review. I adored “Daughter of Smoke & Bone” the first novel, it was fresh, unique and fantasy driven. I cannot wait to dive into “Days of Blood & Starlight” – sequels always frighten me a bit because most of the time they don’t live up to the hype BUT I think this one definitely will!

Dreams of Gods & Monsters by Laini Taylor“Dreams of Gods & Monsters” by Laini Taylor

From the streets of Rome to the caves of the Kirin and beyond, humans, chimaera and seraphim will fight, strive, love, and die in an epic theater that transcends good and evil, right and wrong, friend and enemy. At the very barriers of space and time, what do gods and monsters dream of? And does anything else matter?

The final instalment of the “Daughter of Smoke & Bone” series. I just cannot wait to devour this series. It is rich in fantasy and the world they all live in is just amazing. I love the cover and the title. Definitely a MUST read novel and series of 2014!

Unspeakable by Caroline Pignat“Unspeakable” by Caroline Pignat

Jim. Ellie finds it hard to think of his name now. After their wonderful time in Quebec City, that awful night happened. The screams, the bodies, the frigid waters … she tries hard to tell herself that he survived, but it’s hard to believe when so many didn’t. So when Wyatt Steele, journalist atThe New York Times asks her for her story, Ellie refuses. But when he shows her Jim’s journal, she jumps at the chance to be able to read it herself, to find some trace of the man she had fallen in love with, or perhaps a clue to what happened to him.

Received from Penguin Canada for review and an upcoming tour. This is definitely a different read for me; I don’t normally read such a historical, real life romance novel but for some reason I just couldn’t say no to this one. It sounds so culturally amazing!

Electronic Copies:

Lovely Trigger by RK Lilley“Bad Things” (Tristan & Danika) by R.K. Lilley; “Rock Bottom” (#2) by R.K. Lilley; “Lovely Trigger” (#3) by R.K. Lilley

Over six years after the night that changed everything, Danika finds herself forced to spend the weekend constantly in Tristan’s company, as they attend the wedding of two of their dearest friends. It’s been long enough that she feels they can be friendly again without it destroying her peace of mind, but just a small amount of time in his presence has her remembering something she had forced herself to forget: There’d been a reason she’d gone through hell with this man, for this man, some true good to precede the bad.

SO as an early birthday present to myself (my birthday is on April 30th ;) lol) I bought the entire series because I just loved the “Up In the Air” series so so much! Its about their two friends Tristan & Danika and their twister and sordid tale of whatever happened – its still a mystery throughout the entire series prior. I’m excited about this series!

AND that is all folks!
Leave your link in the comments section! I do adore & read every single one :)
